Identify all sources of data for data warehouse design and population.
WhereScape RED begins the process of data warehouse design by creating connection objects that represent the sources of data, and metadata. Anything can be a data source – databases, text files, or XML data sources.
WhereScape RED can make use of any source data that can:
(a) be accessed via ODBC or OLE DB
or
(b) can be rendered in text or XML formats.
WhereScape RED utilizes appropriate security credentials on the source systems it interacts with to access the data and manages those credentials within the WhereScape RED Repository™.
